Getting Started: Your First 5 Minutes

Step 1: Install & Open the App

3MPWRAPP is ready for all devices — iPhone, iPad, Android phones/tablets, and computers.

Currently in closed beta: We’re doing stress testing before submitting to app stores.

To get early access:

  1. Sign up for beta testing →
  2. We’ll send you download instructions for your device:
    • iPhone/iPad: TestFlight
    • Android phones/tablets: Google Play Beta
    • Windows/Mac: Web app link
  3. Install and open the app

Step 2: Create an Account

Option A: Email & Password (Recommended)

  1. Tap “Sign Up”
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Create a secure password (8+ characters, mix of letters and numbers)
  4. Re-enter password
  5. Tap “Create Account”
  6. Check your email for verification link (check spam folder)
  7. Click verification link
  8. Return to app
  9. Log in with email and password

Option B: Google Account

  1. Tap “Sign Up”
  2. Tap “Continue with Google”
  3. Select your Google account
  4. Tap “Allow” to let 3MPWRAPP access basic info
  5. Done!

Option C: Continue as Guest

  1. Tap “Continue as Guest”
  2. Start using the app immediately
  3. Note: Guest mode doesn’t save data between sessions

Step 3: Choose Your Complexity Mode

  1. Complete sign up
  2. You’ll be asked: “How many features do you want to see?”
  3. Choose:
    • 🔋 Simple Mode (5 essential tools — for crisis, brain fog, bad days)
    • 📊 Standard Mode (20 important tools — for most users, most of the time)
    • 🚀 Power User (All 74 features — for advanced users)
  4. Tap your choice
  5. App redesigns instantly

Can you change later? YES! Go to Settings → Complexity Mode anytime.

Which should you choose?

  1. Tap the Profile tab (usually bottom right)
  2. Tap “Edit Profile”
  3. Add information (optional):
    • Your role: Person with disability, Supporter, Ally, Advocate, Family
    • Disabilities/conditions (for personalized recommendations)
    • Symptoms you track
    • What you’re working on
  4. Tap “Save”
  5. You’re done!

Privacy: This info stays on your device. It’s not shared unless you choose to sync.

  1. You’ll see a “New to 3MPWRAPP?” popup
  2. Tap “Take the Tour” (5-minute walkthrough)
  3. Follow along
  4. Tap “Skip” anytime if you want to start using the app

Account Setup & Security

Change Your Password

  1. Open Settings (gear icon, usually bottom right)
  2. Tap “Account Settings”
  3. Tap “Change Password”
  4. Enter your current password
  5. Enter new password (8+ characters)
  6. Re-enter new password
  7. Tap “Change Password”

Enable Two-Factor Authentication (Extra Security)

Two-factor authentication means someone needs both your password AND your phone to access your account.

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap “Account Settings”
  3. Tap “Two-Factor Authentication”
  4. Tap “Enable”
  5. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy)
  6. Enter the code shown in your authenticator
  7. Save backup codes (keep somewhere safe!)

Sync Your Data to the Cloud

What is syncing? Copying your data to Google Drive or our servers so it’s backed up.

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap “Data & Privacy”
  3. Tap “Cloud Sync”
  4. Choose:
    • No sync (data stays on your phone only)
    • Google Drive (your data syncs to your Google Drive)
    • 3MPWRAPP Backup (your data syncs to our secure servers)
  5. Follow prompts
  6. Done!

Privacy: Data is encrypted. We can’t see it.

Privacy Settings

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap “Data & Privacy”
  3. Choose what you’re comfortable with:
    • Analytics (helps us improve the app)
    • Crash reports (helps us fix bugs)
    • Personalization (app learns your preferences)
  4. Your choices are saved immediately

Understanding Complexity Mode

Complexity Mode is the most important feature to understand.

Why Three Modes?

Disability + fatigue + pain + stress = overwhelming. Complexity Mode fixes this by showing only the tools you need right now.

Simple Mode: 5 Essential Tools

  1. Open Settings (usually bottom right)

You can change modes multiple times per day. No judgment. Do what you need.


Evidence & Document Management

Uploading Documents to Evidence Locker

What you’ll need:

Step-by-step:

  1. From Home screen, tap “Evidence Locker” or tap the Resources tab → Evidence
  2. Tap “Add Document” or “+” button
  3. Choose source:
    • Camera — take a photo of a document right now
    • Photo Library — select a photo already on your phone
    • Files — upload a PDF or file from your phone
  4. Select/take your document
  5. Confirm the image is clear and readable
  6. Tap “Next”
  7. Add a title: “Denial Letter - May 15 2026” (be specific, include dates)
  8. Add tags (optional): “decision”, “medical”, “letter”, “evidence”
  9. Add notes (optional): “For WSIB claim”
  10. Review that it’s encrypted (lock icon should be visible)
  11. Tap “Save”
  12. Document is now encrypted and stored

Tips:

Organizing Evidence with Tags

Tags help you find documents fast.

How to add tags:

  1. When uploading, tap “Tags” field
  2. Type a tag (e.g., “medical”)
  3. Press Enter
  4. Add more tags
  5. Save document

Recommended tag system:

Searching by tag:

  1. Open Evidence Locker
  2. Tap the search/filter button
  3. Choose a tag
  4. See only documents with that tag

Using Evidence Timeline

The Timeline shows all your documents in order (oldest to newest).

How to use it:

  1. Open Evidence Locker
  2. Tap “Timeline” view
  3. Scroll to see documents chronologically
  4. Tap any document to view full details
  5. Look for gaps (periods with no documents)

Why this matters:

Viewing & Downloading Documents

To view a document:

  1. Open Evidence Locker
  2. Find the document
  3. Tap it
  4. Document opens in viewer

To download/share a document:

  1. Open the document
  2. Tap the “Share” button (usually top right)
  3. Choose how to share:
    • Email
    • Messages
    • Save to files
  4. Follow prompts

Important: Make sure you trust the person you’re sharing with. Documents may contain sensitive information.

Deleting Documents

To delete a document:

  1. Open Evidence Locker
  2. Find the document
  3. Tap and hold (long press)
  4. Tap “Delete”
  5. Confirm you want to delete

Caution: Deleted documents cannot be recovered. Make sure you’re deleting the right thing.


Using Evidence Command Center

Evidence Command Center shows you ALL your evidence in one place.

How to open it:

  1. From Home, tap “Evidence Command Center”
  2. You’ll see 4 tabs: Upload, Timeline, Tags, Analytics

How to use Analytics:

  1. Tap “Analytics” tab
  2. See charts showing:
    • Documents by type
    • Documents over time
    • Most-used tags
  3. Use this info to identify what you need to gather next

Example: You see 5 medical documents and 2 decision letters. You need more workplace evidence. Now you know what to focus on gathering.

Understanding Your Decision Letter: Parse Claim

Parse Claim helps you understand confusing decision letters.

What you need:

Step-by-step:

  1. Photograph or save your decision letter as PDF
  2. From Home, tap “Parse Claim” (under Advocacy section)
  3. Tap “Upload Decision Letter”
  4. Choose source:
    • Camera — take a photo now
    • Library — select from your phone
    • Files — upload a PDF
  5. Select/take your document
  6. Make sure it’s readable (clear text, all pages)
  7. Tap “Next”
  8. Wait for app to analyze (30 seconds to 2 minutes)
  9. Read the results

Setting Up Deadline Tracker

Deadline Tracker keeps track of all important dates.

Adding a deadline:

  1. Open Deadline Tracker
  2. Tap “Add Deadline” or “+” button
  3. Enter:
    • Date (use the calendar picker)
    • Deadline type: Appeal, Document Due, Hearing, Filing, Other
    • Description: “Appeal WSIB decision”
    • Notes (optional): “File appeal letter”
  4. Tap “Create Deadline”
  5. Deadline now appears on your calendar

Importing from Parse Claim:

  1. After using Parse Claim
  2. You’ll see “Add deadlines to Tracker”
  3. Tap “Add All” or select individual deadlines
  4. They’re automatically added

Letter Wizard helps you write professional appeal letters.

What you need:

Step-by-step:

  1. From Home, tap “Letter Wizard”
  2. Choose letter type:
    • Appeal Letter
    • Accommodation Request
    • Formal Complaint
    • Demand Letter
    • Other
  3. Tap your choice
  4. Answer questions (they vary by letter type)
  5. For Appeal Letter, answer:
    • What are you appealing?
    • Why do you disagree?
    • What evidence supports your appeal?
    • What outcome do you want?
  6. Answer each question honestly and completely
  7. Tap “Next” to proceed
  8. Review the draft letter
  9. Make any edits (all text is editable)
  10. Save, export as PDF, or send

Using Appeal Coach

Appeal Coach provides personalized guidance for your appeal.

How to use it:

  1. From Advocacy tab, tap “Appeal Coach”
  2. Describe your situation briefly
  3. Ask a specific question, for example:
    • “Should I appeal this decision?”
    • “What evidence do I need for an appeal?”
    • “What are my chances of winning?”
  4. Coach provides a response
  5. Ask follow-up questions
  6. Save responses for later

Setting Up Pacing Partner

Pacing Partner helps you do more without triggering flare-ups.

Step 1: Establish Your Baseline

  1. From Wellness tab, open Pacing Partner
  2. Tap “Set Up Baseline”
  3. The app asks: “What’s your normal activity level?”
  4. Rate it 1-10 (1 = bedridden, 10 = fully active)
  5. Enter your average activity level
  6. This becomes your baseline

Step 2: Use the 50% Rule

  1. Each morning, tap “Plan Today”
  2. List planned activities:
    • Work: 4 hours
    • Errand: 30 minutes
    • Hearing: 2 hours

Step 4: Track How You Felt

  1. At end of day, tap “How did you do?”
  2. Log:
    • Pain level

  1. Symptom Tracker — log pain, fatigue, symptoms
  2. Health Tracker — track multiple conditions
  3. Mood Journal — track emotions
  4. Sleep Tracker — track sleep quality

How to use Symptom Tracker:

  1. Open Wellness Hub
  2. Tap “Symptom Tracker”
  3. Tap “Log Symptom”
  4. Choose your symptom (pain, fatigue, brain fog, etc.)
  5. Rate severity 1-10
  6. Add notes (what triggered it, what helped)
  7. Save entry
  8. View patterns over time

Connecting Wellness Data to Your Case

Your health data is evidence.

How to use it:

  1. Log wellness data consistently
  2. Every week or month, review your entries
  3. Look for patterns
  4. When preparing for hearings:
    • Print month/year of wellness logs
    • Attach to evidence package
    • Reference in appeal letters
    • Show to your lawyer

Example: You’ve been tracking pain 7+ out of 10 for 6 months straight. Print and attach to WSIB appeal. It proves your pain is consistent and ongoing.


Community & Connection

Joining a Support Group

Support groups connect you with others who understand.

Finding a group:

  1. From Community tab, tap “Support Groups”
  2. Browse available groups
  3. Filter by:
    • Disability/condition
    • Format (text, audio, video)
    • Language
  4. Read group description
  5. Tap “Join Group”

Introducing yourself:

  1. After joining, you’ll be asked to introduce yourself
  2. Share what’s comfortable:
    • Your condition/disability
    • What you’re working on
    • What you’re looking for in the group
  3. Hit “Introduce”
  4. Welcome to the group!

High Contrast Mode

For people with low vision, color blindness, or light sensitivity.

How to enable:

  1. Open Settings (gear icon)
  2. Tap “Accessibility”
  3. Toggle “High Contrast Mode”
  4. The app instantly changes to maximum contrast
  5. All colors become bold and clear

Dark Mode

Reduces eye strain and helps in low-light situations.

How to enable:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Tap “Display”

Keyboard Navigation

Use the app entirely with keyboard (no touch needed).

  2. Activate a button: Press Tab until button is focused (you’ll see focus ring), then press Enter
  3. Select from a list: Use Arrow Keys up/down to highlight, then press Enter

Screen Reader Support (VoiceOver / TalkBack)

For people who are blind or have low vision.

iOS (VoiceOver):

  1. Settings → Accessibility → VoiceOver

  3. Triple-tap to read the entire screen
  4. Two-finger Z to undo

Troubleshooting

“App keeps crashing”

  1. Close the app completely (swipe it away from recent apps)
  2. Restart your phone
  3. Open app again
  4. If still crashing:
    • Force close the app
    • Uninstall
    • Restart phone
    • Reinstall from App Store/Play Store

“Can’t log in”

  1. Check email is spelled correctly
  2. Check Caps Lock is off
  3. Use “Forgot Password” to reset
  4. If still stuck, tap “Contact Support”

“Document won’t upload”

  1. Check file size (max 50 MB)
  2. Try different file type
  3. Check internet connection
  4. Try again

“Deadline notifications not working”

  1. Open Settings → Notifications
  2. Check 3MPWRAPP notifications are enabled
  3. Check volume is on
  4. Try restarting the app

“App is slow”

  1. Close other apps running
  2. Restart your phone
  3. Clear the app cache (Settings → Apps → 3MPWRAPP → Storage → Clear Cache)
  4. If still slow, reinstall

“Lost my data”

  1. If you synced to cloud:
    • Open app
    • Log in
    • Data will sync back
  2. If you didn’t sync:
    • Contact Support (data may be recoverable from backup)
